Illustrated Flora of Victoria has been developed to provide professional and amateur biologists with access to encyclopaedic information about Victorian flora in conjunction with detailed distribution data on a range of maps. They are easy-to-use desktop or web-based packages which contain descriptions, photographs, identification aids and distribution data for virtually all species of vascular plants in this state.

Royal Botanic Gardens Victoria is a leading plant science organisation specialising in biodiversity and conservation research, as well as the provision of a variety of information and identification services for plants and fungi, including herbarium, library, online databases and online plant resources.
Flora of Victoria
VICFLORA is a comprehensive and current guide to the wild plants of Victoria. With plant profiles, identification tools and richly illustrated, the Royal Botanic Gardens Victoria provides this resource free-of-charge for land managers, scientists, students and indeed anyone with an interest in Victorian plants.

The Atlas of Living Australia is a collaborative, national project that aggregates biodiversity data from multiple sources and makes it available and usable online.
Royal Botanic Gardens Victoria
The Plant Identification and Information Service provides plant identifications, with emphasis on the wild and cultivated plants of Victoria. Organisms that we are able to identify include vascular plants, bryophytes and macrolichens. There is a separate Fungi Identification Service. The Plant Identification and Information Service also provides information on plant nomenclature, classification and distribution.
Australian National Botanic Gardens
The Australian National Botanic Gardens, on the lower slopes of Black Mountain in Canberra, has the world’s most comprehensive display of living Australian native plants. The Centre for Australian National Biodiversity Research (CANBR) includes the Australian National Herbarium. These are jointly managed by CSIRO and the Director of National Parks with strong links to the Australian National Botanic Gardens. The Herbarium, with over 1.2 million specimens, is responsible for the scientific integrity of the Gardens' plant labelling and manages the national plant name lists for Australia's botanical community. One single database, the Integrated Botanical Information System (IBIS), is used for all these activities. This allows linking of names, photographs, herbarium specimens and living plants.
Parks Victoria
Our responsibilities under the Parks Victoria Act 1998 are to manage the State’s parks, reserves, waterways and other public land including a representative system of terrestrial and marine national parks and marine sanctuaries. It is also the Local Port Manager for Port Phillip Bay, Western Port and Port Campbell and the Waterway Manager for the Yarra and Maribyrnong rivers.
